Core Volunteer Trainings Coming Up!

Written by easternli | Sep 13, 2018 6:18:50 PM

After showing up at a beach cleanup, or a chapter meeting a lot of people tend to ask us, "I'd love to help out, how can I be more involved?" In the past, we haven't exactly had a great answer beyond "show up to a chapter meeting" or "come to our next cleanup."

These core volunteer trainings will spell out specific volunteer roles and opportunities with our Chapter. The goal is for volunteers to leave the room knowledgable about who Surfrider is, what we do, and confident in their ability to speak about Surfrider. We want trained volunteers to feel empowered as a Surfrider ambassador, stoked to contribute to the health of our ocean, waves and beaches. These trainings will also provide the Chapter a pool of volunteers to call upon when a need exists.

The trainings will take place on the first Thursdays of October and November.

  • East Hampton - October 4th, 6-8pm Loft 35 (35 Main St) East Hampton
  • Southampton - November 1st, 6-8pm Rogers Memorial Library, Southampton

Snacks and drinks will be provided.
