Revetment Decision Needs Full Review

The East Hampton Zoning Board of Appeals, ZBA, decided it can not approve a request for a rock revetment on Surfside Ave in Montauk without a full environmental review.  The Chapter submitted comments to the ZBA in July, 2014 calling into question several aspect of the application. This is an important step in our campaign to stop this rock revetment, preserve public beaches and beach access, and to uphold the East Hampton Coastal Legislation outlawing seawalls of this type.  More in the local papers here http://easthamptonstar.com/News/2014821/Endangered-House-Decision-Hold

A similar revetment on the eastern side of this property (facing Shadmoor State Park) was opposed by the chapter, but approved and has since failed.  Before and after photos below by Jay Fruin.
