Announcing Our Newest Ocean Friendly Restaurant!

We are pleased to announce our chapter’s newest Ocean Friendly Restaurant, La Fin Kitchen and Lounge in Montauk!

La Fin ("The End" in French) has taken the extra steps to set an example of how to provide a satisfying dining experience while reducing plastic waste. Like all Ocean Friendly Restaurants, La Fin follows these mandatory guidelines: providing only reusable foodware for on-site dining, paper straws and disposable take-out items are only provided upon request, no styrofoam containers or plastic bags provided for takeout, no beverages sold in plastic bottles, and proper recycling practices are followed.

In addition, La Fin follows sustainable practices like using locally sourced ingredients, sustainable seafood, and providing plenty of vegetarian options. All Ocean Friendly Restaurants make extra efforts beyond the mandatory criteria to reduce plastic waste, carbon emissions, and/or promote water conservation.

We were fortunate to visit La Fin shortly after opening day and were impressed with its casual but elegant atmosphere, outdoor lounges, DJ booth, and the delicious coastal cuisine.

La Fin Kitchen and Lounge is the perfect seaside spot to relax with a cocktail, listen to live music, and enjoy a farm-to-table menu of French-inspired dishes.  Check them out this summer and make sure to thank them for making sustainable choices for our ocean!

Note: If you own a restaurant in the Eastern Long Island area and would like to join our Ocean Friendly Restaurants program, please contact our Rise Above Plastics Coordinator: rap@easternli.surfrider.org
