We have openings in our Executive Committee, which is the dedicated group of volunteers that help lead our chapter. We are looking to fill the positions of Secretary and Volunteer Coordinator. Both are expected to make a two-year commitment and volunteer 2-10 hours a week, which includes checking their Surfrider email inboxes and attending virtual Executive Committee meetings on the first Monday evening of the month. Candidates should ideally be located on the East End of Long Island to assist with chapter activities. For a little more detail on the differences between these roles, see below!
Secretary:
- Records notes for virtual Executive Committee meetings on the first Monday evening of the month
- Corresponds with new members to welcome to them to the chapter
- Sends thank you letters to donors
- Assists with beach cleanup data entry
Volunteer Coordinator:
- Responds to volunteer inquiries and directs interested volunteers to upcoming opportunities
- Assists the Chapter Coordinator with volunteer recruitment and training
- Assists with volunteer events on the East End, including beach cleanups, tabling, and more
- Coordinates with partner groups to increase event attendance and community service
