Join an upcoming Core Volunteer Training!

A lot of people meet us and ask, “how can I get involved?” We started hosting core volunteer trainings to answer that very question. We're bringing them back this year in hopes of recruiting newly dedicated volunteers to help run our initiatives. These will also be a great refresher if you've completed a core volunteer training in the past!

These core volunteer trainings will spell out specific volunteer roles and opportunities with our chapter. The goal is for volunteers to leave feeling knowledgable about who Surfrider Foundation is and what we do, and confident in their ability to speak about Surfrider. We want trained volunteers to feel empowered as a Surfrider ambassador and stoked to contribute to the health of our ocean, waves and beaches. These trainings will also provide us with a pool of volunteers to call upon when a need exists.

We are planning two training sessions to take place on two weeknights in March:

  • South Fork – March 14th, 5:30pm - 7:30pm, Rogers Memorial Library, Southampton
  • North Fork – March 23rd, 5:30pm - 7:30pm, Hallock State Park Preserve, Riverhead *ONE SPOT LEFT*

Currently, all indoor Surfrider events must require masks. These venues have limited capacity, so registration is required and is first come, first served.

Registration is now open! Spaces are available on a first-come, first-served basis so sign up to save your spot here. If you have any questions, contact our chapter coordinator.
