We're hiring a summer intern!

The Surfrider Foundation Eastern Long Island Chapter is excited to announce that we're bringing back our summer internship position for 2022.

The intern will be supporting our clean water and plastic pollution initiatives through a variety of activities, including:

  • Collecting and analyzing water samples for our Blue Water Task Force program
  • Assisting with educational workshops on water quality and Ocean Friendly Gardens
  • Expanding our Ocean Friendly Restaurants program by recruiting more businesses and spreading awareness through blogs and social media posts
  • Helping out with event coverage during a busy summer season at our beach cleanups, fundraisers, and other outreach opportunities

We are looking for someone with a background in marine conservation or environmental studies, who also has a passion for environmental education and outreach. Skills like public speaking, writing, and social media experience are a plus. Applicants must have reliable transportation and be comfortable traveling in busy East End traffic. Members of the BIPOC and LGBTQIA+ communities are strongly encouraged to apply. Applications will be accepted until March 14.
