On this World Oceans Day, June 8, the Eastern Long Island Chapter hosted a beach cleanup at Cedar Point County Park in East Hampton. 18 volunteers showed up to collect trash from the nearby beach, most of which was found in the grasses and dunes. The top items collected were plastic fragments, food wrappers, plastic lids, cigarette butts, and paper napkins. You can view the full data here.

This cleanup is one of many that Everlane is hosting for their Summer Cleanup Series with Surfrider. They even provided these sweet Surfrider Foundation tote bags to volunteers as a thank you for keeping our oceans, waves, and beaches clean.

Thank you to Everlane, Suffolk County Parks, and all our volunteers for this effort!
